Missouri Farm House

This piece was commissioned as a gift. The subject is a dearly loved family home in Missouri. I was given some photos and we eventually agreed on this idea. I normally work with chunky broken pottery and dishes, but knowing that something like this needed to have straight edges to read correctly, I decided to use stained glass. Stained glass is a wonderful material with lots of color options both opaque and translucent and also the ability to be cut straight. I used mirror as the substrate in order to give those glass pieces an internal glow.

Materials:
stained glass
mounted on mirror
in a wood frame

Final Mounted Size: 16” X 20”
