RAVEN STEALS THE SUN
I love myths that speak of transformation and resilience, and the story of Raven Steals the Sun, is one of my favorites. This myth originates from the Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest where the Raven is revered as a creator and a mischievous trickster who brings light to the world. In this story, a powerful chief has stolen the sun, the moon and the stars and locked them away. Raven, through cunning, releases the stars, the moon and the sun! Then while bringing the sun back into the sky, the suns’ fire scorches his feathers turning them black forever.
